Hi everyone! Seanie here! Today is my first time hosting our new Most Squad Challenge Blog!

One of the greatest complements anyone that creates cards or crafty projects is to have someone create their own project based on your creation, better known as to CASE a card/project. The challenge this week is for you to find a designer that you like and CASE one of hers/his cards/projects.
This is my CASE card that is a design by Andrea Ewen.

"BEAUTY IS EVERYWHERE, NOTICE IT"

The projects I used to make this card are:
  • “Stately Flowers 7” stamp set by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K Designs
  • Gina K Designs Pure Luxury 120 lb Base Weight White card stock
  • Gina K Designs Pure Luxury 80 lb Layering Weight White card stock
  • Gina K Designs Pure Luxury Kraft card stock
  • Gina K Designs Pure Luxury Powder Blue card stock.
  • Gina K Designs Color Companions Premium Dye Ink in Powder Blue.
  • Prima Flowers
  • Want2Scrap pearls
  • Bo Bunny Doilies

Here are the details for playing along:
  • Please create a new card/project for each challenge.
  • You may use any vendors/products.
  • The host/hostess will choose 3 winners.
  • All 3 cards will be pinned to our Mod Squad Challenge Blog Pinterest Board (follow the link on the right column) and when there is a craft prize the host/hostess will choose one from among those 3 winning cards. The winners will be announced in a separate post that will go up on Tuesdays before the next challenge post goes up. Any winners of craft prizes have 1 week to respond to claim the prize. Prizes that are unclaimed will be offered again on another challenge.
  • Our challenges may be combined with up to 4 other challenges, so to be eligible for any prizes and Pinning you can have a total of 5 challenges you've entered. We rely on the honor system so please be honest.
  • The Mod Squad challenges are open until the following Monday night so we have time to choose and post winners.
  • Winners will be chosen from among the entries submitted in time.
  • Please link up your challenge entry using the linky at the end of the post and make sure you include the link to this challenge somewhere in your card description. For this challenge only, make sure to indicate the designer you CASE'd to give them credit for the original design.

Prize for the challenge:
The winner of this challenge will receive a $25 gift certificate to Gina K Designs!
I can’t wait to see what you all create!
Thanks for playing along!

Oh how I loved looking at all of the lovely wood inspired creations!!  Thanks so much for playing along with  my challenge!  :-)

It wasn't easy, but we chose some winners!  Normally, we are only supposed to pick three...but I just couldn't do it!  I had to choose four!  (Shhh, don't tell Lee, Sean, or Cat...ok??)  :-)

Isn't this card by   Verna Angerhofer  just fabulous?  I love her coloring...and of course that wood background!

This card by  Janeenk  really caught my eye.  I love the soft, dainty colors.  And that subtle woodgrain in the background is just lovely!

Donna Phelan created this beauty and I just adore it!  The lovely sketch, wonderful details, and fun wooden hearts make for one gorgeous card!

How about this stunner from Sue V?  I love how she framed those wooden trees...and just look at all of that yummy texture!

For the prize of three packages of wooden embellishments and woodgrain cardstock, I chose randomly from the above talented ladies.  Congratulations to  Sue V!!  Please email me (Laurie) at JustGiveMeStamps@Yahoo.com so that I can get your mailing info!

Watch for our Pinterest Board to be updated!!  And for all of our challenge participants...you never know when one of the Mod Squad might pin ANY of the challenge cards to our Pinterest Board just cuz we love it!!!  So keep looking!!!  And the next challenge will be up tomorrow morning!!!  We are so excited with the wonderful participation and can't wait to see what you create with the next challenge!!!

Hi there!  Laurie here, and I'm excited to be hosting my first challenge!

As you know, trends come and go in the paper crafting world.  Some, however, have some staying power and stick around for a while.  One of those long lasting trends is wood!  I happen to love me some wood - woodgrain, wood embellishments, and wood paper are all on my love list!

My challenge to to you is to use some wood (woodgrain, wood embellishments, or wood paper) on your project!

For my card, I started with some patterned paper that I had in my stash.  I heat embossed and watercolored the flowers from the Garden Forever Stamp Duo (Gina K Designs) for the focal image.  The sentiment (also form the Garden Forever Stamp Duo) is heat embossed on vellum cardstock.

For embellishments, I added two wood hearts and a wood butterfly.  I kept them natural (no paint or ink) as I thought it brought out the natural color of the patterned paper.

Oh...because I want to...and because I love wood...and because it's Wednesday (teeheehee), I have a little prize to offer up!  That's right!  One of the lucky participants of this challenge will win a goody bag with several packages of wood embellishments as well as some woodgrain paper!

I'm so excited to see what you guys come up with!!  ~Laurie

Now for this week's challenge!

The title of this challenge is "A Few Of My Favorite Things". And since this is my birthday month, we are gonna ALL celebrate by making cards with a few of my favorite things in card making! :D I am going to list a few of my favorite things (in the card making business) and you have to choose at least THREE of them and include on your creation.

Here are is my list:

1. Distressed edges
2. Ribbon
3. Die Cuts
4. Pearl stickers
5. Twine
6. Metallic Rubs
7. Layering of an image
8. Charms
9. Copic coloring of an image
10. Use of Distress Inks
11. Kraft card stock
12. Buttons

Now, like I said, you only have to pick 3 of them to put on your creation to qualify for this challenge! I have several of them on this card I made....die cuts, distressed edges, layering of images, etc., etc. I used the stamp set Stamper's Favorites by Melanie Muenchinger from Gina K Designs. I found a free printable calendar online and made it super small and then printed it out to add to my card stock. I attached a super tiny rhinestone on a date of a friends birthday. The butterfly has a gorgeous shimmer to it that you cant really see, but I used some Tim Holtz Frosted Film over the butterfly after stamping it, then fussy cut the butterfly. LOVE that stuff!

Edited to add link to Free (for personal use) Calendar. Here is the link!
Free 2014 Calendar. Please note! I had to shrink the size down to a size a liked!

Oh! What? I said something about a prize? OH!! Yes I did! ;) As stated in the rules, there will be 3 winners...and from those 3 one will be chosen to win........get ready for it.............A $50 Gift Certificate from Gina K Designs!! How awesome is that?! Gina has oh so graciously sponsored us for the prize this week! :D

Now, Go Forth and Create!! Can't wait to see all of your gorgeous creations!!
