Time for another Mod Squad Challenge.......and it's a color challenge!!!

Yep, that's me....colorfuLEE..... and your color challenge is Reds and Browns!!!  I was so excited to use my new Gina K Stamp TV Kit......Shabby Spring!!!  I used some of my favorite Gina K Pure Luxury Warm Cocoa and Cherry Red and some pretty patterned paper that I can't remember now but I'll look up and post later!  Some gingham ribbon which I seriously love, Kaisercraft Rhinestones and an embossing folder.  Some twine and an adorable little ladybug button finish it off.

Good morning, crafty friends! Thanks so much to everyone who played in my "Cut It Out!" challenge! You proved that scissors can reign over the die cutting machines after all! Absolutely wonderful creations, every one of them!

As far as I'm concerned, every project entered in this challenge is a winner! But the rules state there can only be three winners and then one of those winners gets the craft prize, so here goes...

Please use the Contact Form on the right sidebar of  my blog Love To Scrap! to message me with your snail mail addy and I'll get those stamp set duos right out to you!

Thanks again to everyone who played! Be sure to watch the Mod Squad Challenge Blog's Pinterest Board for the winning entries and others that have been pinned!

Leslie here, and I'm thrilled to be your Mod Squad Challenge Blog hostess this week! My theme is "Cut It Out!" and I challenge you to create a project with HAND-CUT embellishments... can be one, five or 50, but they all have to be hand-cut! No die cuts allowed this time! ;)

I used the awesome GKD Lots of Washi stamp set for my CAS anniversary card. I used shades of pink and red ink, lining up the washi strips, then hand-cut a large heart. I inked the edges and adhered it to medium pink cardstock layered on dark pink cardstock. I applied a white eyelet on each side of the heart and ran some baker's twine through each side and tied it in a bow. I stamped the sentiment (from the GKD Always and Forever stamp set) in the lower left corner, then adhered the entire unit to the card base. I finished the front with four assorted red and pink buttons from my stash.

I'm offering a prize of three Gina K Designs stamp set duos to the winner of this challenge - My Most Favorite Duo, Flower Border Duo and Don't Lose Hope Duo! How awesome is that?! ;)

Here are the guidelines for playing along:
  • Please create a new card/project for each challenge.
  • You may use any vendor/products.
  • The host/hostess will choose three winners.
  • All three cards will be pinned to our Mod Squad Challenge Blog Pinterest Board (follow the link in the right column) and when there is a craft prize, the host/hostess will choose one of the three winning cards. The winners will be announced in a separate post that will go up on Tuesday before the next challenge post goes up. Any winners of craft prizes have one week to respond to claim the prize. Prizes that are unclaimed will be offered again on another challenge.
  • Our challenges may be combined with up to four other challenges, so to be eligible for any prizes and pinning, you can enter a total of five challenges. We rely on the honor system, so please be honest.
  • The Mod Squad challenges are open until the following Monday night so we have time to choose and post winners.
  • Winners will be chosen from those entries submitted in time.
  • Please link up your challenge entry using the InLinkz tool at the end of the post and make sure you include the link to this challenge somewhere in your card description.

I hope you can join us for this fun challenge! I can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

Donna here hosting the Mod Squad Challenge this week.  So happy to be here, thank you Cat, Laurie, Lee, and Sean.

Today's Challenge is all about tags.  Just add a tag to your card or project.  I love a tag on a card.  A little tag, a large tag, it doesn't matter, they just make me happy!  :)

Beaded Cupcake Tag

I have used the sentiment from Simple Numbers, by Gina K Designs.  I cut a large tag out using my Cameo and covered it in Bo Bunny Designer Paper, added a couple of eyelets and that pretty pink and white gingham ribbon.  Fussy cutting a cupcake 'tin' shape out of chipboard topped with more DP, I ran it through my corrugator.  Now for the fun part.  Using a piece of scrap chipboard I started gluing down random craft beads, in pinks and white.  Once I got the 'frosting' shape I was looking for I covered the beads in glitter to add a little sparkle and shine, and then topped my cupcake 'tin' with this delicious confection.  When dried I adhered it to my tag, tied some Baker's Twine on, then using Scor Tape I placed the entire tag on my card front.  I also colored some adhesive pearls with Copic Markers.  Stamped my sentiment on a piece of Pure Luxury card stock, cut as a banner flag.  Card base is Pure Luxury Dark Chocolate.  Whala.  A yummy little birthday card.

Now as a PRIZE for entering my Challenge, I have 3......three......yes, I said THREE packs of fantastic Gina K Designs Designer Papers, Berries & Vines, Spring Parade, and Wisteria Lane

One LUCKY winner will receive ALL three!

Hi everyone, Allie here.

I'm happy to be here guest hosting a challenge for you. The Mod Squad is giving away a great prize this week, a $50 Gift Card from GINA K DESIGNS!!!

I live in Minnesota, and we haven't seen ANY signs of spring! I'm ready for Mother Nature to paint some grass and flowers! Let's give her a reminder of the colors we like to see.

The rules for this challenge are simple, just make use of the color palette. You can use all the colors, or even just one!

Spring in Japan

I used the cloud from the digital cutting file Cloud and Lanterns to create a stencil to create the background. The mat behind the background and the border are stamped with flowers from the Folk Filigree set. The border is built by stamping images from Folk Filigree in a variety of colors. Some of the flowers are stamped with the same color using generational stamping - stamping off the paper and then on, to create a lighter shade of the same color. The lanterns are inked to match the flowers. The kanjis on the lanterns are raised with dimensional foam, and the yellow lantern is raised above the others for added interest.

The products I used to make this card are:

  • Folk Filigree” stamp set by Becky Oehlers for Gina K Designs
  • Memento Dye Inks from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko
  • Digital Cutting File - Cloud and Lanterns by Samantha Walker for Silhouette Online Store
  • Neenah Solar White Cardstock
  • Adhesive from ThermoWeb
