Ombre Technique

Hello, it's Barbara Campbell and Leslie Turner here to welcome you to another year of the Mod Squad challenge.  We have lots of stuff jammed into this year, so keep watching and participating.

The challenge this week...is to use the OMBRE Technique on your project. Since we are all getting over the holidays, I thought an easy challenge was in order. This technique is simply having colors or tones that shade into each other, according to Webster's.

1st Sponsor this week is Gina K Designs
http://stamptv.com

A free community featuring card making, stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters featuring stamps by Gina K. Designs. Be sure to check out StampTV for a ton of great videos and techniques. They also have weekly challenges. Shop Gina K Designs.

 Prize
A PRIZE PACK of Gina K goodies. You can see an example of prizes in the GKD Prize Pack link.

Barbara's card

I did the Ombre technique on my background panel.
For this card I used GKD card stock in White and Dusty Sage.
I accomplished the OMBRE technique with distressed inks in Bundled Sage, Cracked Pistachio and Forest Moss.
The stamp sets are GKD Peace and Joy, and Poster Board Sentiments.
I needed a maculine birthday card and I think this fits the bill.  The brown gingham ribbon was in a gift bag that I won from STV and the buckle and brad are from my stash.

I created a shabby chic birthday card featuring two dies from One Happy Cut - the Yvonne Creations Trellis Frame and the Precious Marieke Grass Border.
